Finding Hope in Chaos
Turning to God in Uncertain Times
As we step into the first month of the year, the world around us feels heavy. From the terror attack here in New Orleans to the mystery fires devastating California, it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed. Add to this the uncertainty of global conflicts, natural disasters, and personal struggles, and many of us are left questioning, Where is God in all of this?
If you’re broken in faith, struggling to make sense of the pain, or even distant from God—whether by choice or circumstance—this message is for you.
A Call to Return to the Source
The truth is, God never promised a life free of pain. Jesus Himself told us, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) When life feels like it’s unraveling, it’s an invitation—not to run away—but to run toward the One who has already overcome the chaos.
Even if you’ve been distant from God or feel unworthy, His arms are wide open. Just as the prodigal son returned to his father after wandering far, you too can find your way back to a love that never left.
Faith Over Fear
It’s natural to feel afraid in times like these, but fear is not from God. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) In moments of terror, uncertainty, or grief, remind yourself that fear is a tool of the enemy to distract and paralyze you.
Instead of succumbing to fear, lean into faith. Pray for the victims of these tragedies. Pray for clarity and peace in your own life. Pray for a revival in the hearts of those who have turned away from God.
Finding Purpose in the Pain
When tragedy strikes, it’s easy to wonder, Why does God allow this? While we may not have all the answers, we can trust in God’s sovereignty. Pain often becomes a catalyst for transformation.
Consider this: What if the current chaos is an opportunity for you to draw closer to Him, to rediscover your purpose, or to be a light for others in their darkness?

Strengthen my faith and help me to see You even in the midst of chaos. Comfort those who are hurting, protect those who are in danger, and guide those searching for answers. Draw me closer to You, Lord, and use me as a light in this dark world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
