Face Your Mountains

Today, I took a powerful step forward—I faced a mountain I had been avoiding for far too long. That mountain was debt, something I kept telling myself I’d deal with “when the money comes.” But here’s what I realized: the breakthrough has already happened! Now, it’s just about walking through it. By activating your faith and trusting that it is well, you step into the blessings God has already prepared for you.

Many of us are waiting for our breakthrough, but the moment Jesus laid down His life for us, the breakthrough was done. It’s now our responsibility to take action. Don’t be like Saul, hiding when it’s time to step up (1 Samuel 10:22). God has equipped you for this very moment. It’s not just the breakthrough itself that transforms us—it’s the decision to walk through it, knowing that everything we need is already provided.

What Are You Hiding From?

In 1 Samuel 10, Saul was chosen by God to be Israel’s first king, but when the time came to step up, Saul was found hiding. Why was he hiding? Fear. Insecurity. A feeling of unworthiness. Maybe he thought, “I’m not ready,” or “What if I fail?”

How often do we do the same? We hide from the challenges we need to face, waiting for the perfect moment or more resources. But here’s what I’ve learned—the breakthrough comes when you walk through, not when you hide. If you’re standing still, afraid to take the first step, you’re guaranteeing that it won’t happen.

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

Your Breakthrough Requires Action

God has already prepared the path. He has everything set up for those He has called, including you. But you have to walk it out. That mountain in front of you is only going to move if you start climbing. Yes, you might feel overwhelmed. You might even fear that it won’t work out. But let me encourage you—if you don’t walk through and face it, you’re guaranteeing that it won’t happen.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14

Stillness in this verse doesn’t mean inaction. It means we are still in our spirit, trusting God, but we are actively walking, moving, and facing the very things that scare us.

Practical Steps to Face Your Mountain:

  1. Acknowledge It – Write down the specific things you’ve been avoiding. Be real with yourself. Whether it’s finances, relationships, or personal growth, put it on paper.

  2. Pray and Seek Guidance – Before you move, seek God’s wisdom. Ask Him to show you the next steps. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not to lean on our own understanding.

  3. Take the First Step – It might be small, but that first step will begin to break the fear. Maybe it’s making a phone call, starting a payment plan, or having that tough conversation. Remember, God equips those He calls.

  4. Stay Consistent – Just like climbing a mountain, each step counts. Galatians 6:9 encourages us not to grow weary in doing good because, at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

You Are Worthy of Breakthrough

As you walk through your challenges, remember this—you are worthy of the breakthrough. God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called. Don’t let fear or feelings of unworthiness stop you from claiming what’s already yours. Every time you take a step, you are moving closer to what God has prepared for you.

Let today be the day you stop hiding. Let today be the day you choose to walk through your mountain. God has already broken through on your behalf; now it’s time to take action.
